Five-Step Program
Five Steps to a Healthier, Beautiful Lawn
Our Five-Step Program can revive your lawn by controlling weeds and pests while supporting healthy grass growth.
Sign up for our five-step program, and get two FREE fertilizer treatments!

Step 1:
Early spring treatment is a balanced granular, time-released fertilizer treatment to promote early spring green-up and recovery from winter damage. The treatment also thickens your lawn to prevent future weed problems. This step also includes a pre-emergent crabgrass control that creates a barrier on your property to help prevent crabgrass, goosegrass, fox grass, poa-annua, chickweed, spurge, and other annual grasses and weeds from germinating.

Step 2:
Late spring/early summer treatment is a balanced liquid treatment that improves your lawn’s color and density and prepares your yard for summer stress. Plus, we include broadleaf weed control for dandelions and all your broadleaf weed concerns. Five-step customers receive a bonus treatment for free!

Step 3:
The summer process includes a granular, time-release balanced fertilizer treatment, which is important during the heat and stress of summer to maintain your lawn’s color and improve turf vigor. Plus, we include spot treatment of any weeds.

Step 4:
Late summer/early fall includes a balanced liquid treatment that thickens grass, promotes root growth and repair after summer stress, and enhances turf color. This step also includes broadleaf weed control for the second coming of dandelions and all other broadleaf weeds. Five-step customers receive a bonus treatment for free!

Step 5:
Late fall is an important time for lawn maintenance. Our process includes a balanced granular time-released fertilizer treatment for winter root development. This step also prepares for winter hardiness, disease resistance, and general durability. This is essential for winter survivability and early spring green-up.

Frequently Asked Questions
General
Do I have to be home when you come?
Nope, no need to wait around for us! We’ll leave an invoice at your door, plus a cute little sign on each side of the property line’s sidewalk areas to show off your lawn’s VIP treatment (and remember to leave those there for 24 hours for all the neighbors to see and be aware of, as required by law).
How long should our kids or pets stay off the lawn after each service?
Just give it a couple of hours (at least 2 hours) to dry, and you’re good to go! Our liquid weed control is like a health smoothie for your lawn—absorbed right into the leaves (minus the kale, don’t worry). It’s not necessarily about safety, but instead, if wet feet or paws wander from your lawn to the garden or landscaping, it could & would harm your flowers and other plants.
Rainfalls & Waterings
Will rain hurt or help the liquid fertilizer you just applied?
Rain? No problem. Unless it’s a torrential downpour within two hours, your weeds don’t stand a chance. We use a magical ingredient that makes our treatment practically weatherproof. But hey, if your weeds are still flexing after a week, give us a call—we’ve got your back!
Will rain help or hurt the granular fertilizer you just applied?
Rain is basically a spa day for our time-release granular fertilizer. It releases nutrients every time water hits it for up to eight weeks. So, whether it’s rain, your sprinkler, or even morning dew, your lawn’s getting pampered!
When should I water during the hot summer months?
Think of it like a spa treatment for your lawn—deep and occasional. Water each spot for 2 hours straight every 7–10 days. **Bonus: a two-hour rainstorm means Mother Nature just saved you the trouble!
Mowing
Should we mow before or after you come?
Either works, but for the lawn care perfectionists out there: mow a few hours or days before we come, or wait a full day after we’re done. (Pro tip: let us know your mowing schedule, and we’ll make sure we’re not interrupting your perfectly planned mowing masterpiece!)
After you apply a treatment, how long should I wait before mowing?
Hold off until the next day. Your lawn needs a little time to soak up all the goodness before it gets its haircut!
Will my mower suck up the granular fertilizer you just applied?
Nope, not a chance. Our granular fertilizers are like tiny, lawn-loving pebbles that settle into the soil. Even if you were to bag your clippings, you’d be hard-pressed to find more than a handful of granules. So, mow away with confidence!
Got more questions? We’re here to help—(and maybe crack a joke or two along the way!
